The Origin of the Brand

Our Founder

Our story began in the 1930s.Pierre Jules Augé and Lucienne Augé, pharmacists trained at the University of Tours, opened their pharmacy in wartime France. Their quiet commitment to the Resistance would profoundly shape a lifelong dedication to repair.

In 1949, they joined a medical mission to Djibouti, where extreme climates and living conditions led to severe skin damage.

Over a decade of voluntary care, they developed a restorative paste for burns and wounds, later known as the “Augé Ointment.” Refined through thousands of clinical cases, it helped countless skin recover its integrity.

From this experience emerged a conviction that continues to define the brand:

Skincare begins with repair, and above all, with restoring the skin’s original balance.

Our Philosophy

After returning from Africa, Mr. Augé devoted himself to dermatological research, adopting a physiological approach to the skin. He believed that skin health relies on the precise equilibrium of water, lipids, vitamins, carbohydrates, and proteins.

This vision was formalized into THE DERGYL METHOD, founded on respecting the skin’s structure and faithfully reproducing its natural composition.

Drawing on extensive clinical experience in repair, he created Ental Délicate, an all-in-one restorative cream designed for sensitive and damaged skin.

In 1961, Pierre and Lucienne Augé founded Pier Augé upon the principles of BASE DERGYL, establishing a formulation discipline that endures to this day: effective actives, exact ratios, and a high affinity with the skin’s natural biology to restore balance.

For more than half a century, THE DERGYL METHOD has remained the scientific foundation of all Pier Augé skincare.
